  • Margo Carey

Margo Carey grew up near Salem, Massachusetts where tales of hauntings abound. She’s a believer. Her childhood home had a benign nighttime walker and something darker that frightened her dog. Trace of Evil combines her interest in all things ghostly, Salem’s witch trials, and her memories of managing a senior living facility. Although Dani’s narrative springs solely from Margo’s own twisted imaginings, she loves to hear personal stories about encounters with the supernatural.

Margo’s first writing attempt as a child was a murder mystery with her brother as the victim and herself as the sleuth. As she continued to write, something strange happened. Despite her plans, the supernatural slipped in. Finally, rather than fight her muse, she gave in to her pen’s inclination, changed her genre to paranormal, and titled her website, My Haunted Pen. Although this is her debut novel, she published a short horror piece, Micah’s Gift, in Black Petals magazine. She is currently at work on her urban fantasy Watcher series introducing members of an ancient Templar Clan. Today, she resides in Florida with her husband, an easily spooked black cat, a Maine Coon cat who talks a lot but keeps a low profile, and happily, no ghosts—yet!

  • Maureen Castell

When Maureen started writing her own stories, she discovered that even her most serious suspense thriller ended up with a fantasy twist (in this case, a cameo from the Loch Ness Monster). Accepting the inevitable, but still determined to end with a happily-ever-after, she turned to writing science fiction and fantasy romance.

A recent experience directed her interest toward Vikings, so she began with a story about a strong Viking warrior who happens to encounter a crashing spaceship, ends up in the ancient past, and falls in love with a woman born three thousand years before he was.
