When popular artist Diana Harper dumped her cheating fiancé and accepted an invitation “to attend a private event at Miss A’s island retreat to experience your most secret dreams and fondest fantasies,” her hostess gave her Teddy as an “attendant.” Despite his best efforts, Teddy is no submissive. Diana, however, plays his game for the profound passion, the best sex ever, and love that could last a lifetime
Billionaire philanthropist Theodore Cooper “Coop” Bareston III fell in love with Diana when he saw her working out at his elite gym in New York City. He was willing to do anything to win her love, including wearing a skimpy thong in his “Teddy” role and posing nude in chains when Di’s interest in her art revived. As the sexual tension builds and passions explode, Teddy discovers he is intensely aroused by playing the submissive to his Mistress Di.
After moving into Coop’s East Side penthouse, Diana is sucked into a world inhabited by supernatural denizens with powers beyond her imagination. Can she survive the challenges confronting her to live in Coop’s world or will she flee the destiny awaiting her?
Teddy almost lost it when Di laid her head on his chest after they’d made love. He pulled her closer and tangled his hands in her hair. He lay still waiting for his heart to slow. Soon, Di stirred beside him.
“Where do we go from here, Teddy? I don’t even know what other people call you.”
She sounded forlorn. He wanted to make things right, but he couldn’t tell her the whole truth. She would declare him insane and take the first flight off the island, then avoid him like the plague.
“Friends and family call me Coop, as in Coop’s Gym & Spa. You may call me whatever you wish, Di. I’ll always be your Teddy Bare. I can’t remember when I’ve enjoyed being with someone more than our couple of days together.”
Di balanced on an elbow. “I feel the same. It doesn’t seem quite right. Shouldn’t I be upset? Franklin and I dated for almost two years. Now? I feel more relieved over our break up than anything.”
“Like you dodged a bullet?”
“Exactly!” She sat up seeming oblivious to her nudity. “What if I’d married him? I never thought about having him investigated, but I hired a team of lawyers, accountants, and investigators last week. In a few days, they discovered more about him than I wanted to know. Every one of your charges was correct and more. He’s a despicable piece of scum.”
He agreed completely, but all he could focus on was her glorious nudity. Di was tall—a couple of inches shy of six feet—but graceful with an athlete’s well-toned body. Her breasts were good-sized handfuls with dusky nipples. A small waist flared slightly to her slim hips. Long dark brown hair framed the classic Greek beauty of her face. He could lose himself in those warm brown eyes.
“Teddy, I said…”
“He’s scum. I agree. I was overwhelmed. You are so beautiful. Right down to the adorable dimple just above your bottom. I could look at you all day.”
She blushed and lifted the sheet to pull around her.
“Please, Di, let me look at you.” He held his breath until she dropped the sheet.
She appeared nervous, ready to grab it again. “It will be dark soon. I can’t imagine why you don’t have electricity on this part of the island.”
He shrugged. “You get used to it. If we need light, there’re candles or torches. It’s all about what you’re accustomed to. We’re very energy efficient here.”
He sat up in bed. “Let’s get back to ‘Where do we go from here?’ You know what I want from you, but I won’t press. We’ll take it as slow as you wish, but I’d like for you to move into my apartment.”
Di frowned and tensed.
“I’m not asking you to share my bed, but I want you close. We need time together to get to know each other. My place is huge and can accommodate anything you wish to move there. I’m not asking you to sell your home, but do you really want to live there with all the memories of the past?”
Di relaxed but continued to frown. “Hell, no. Every place I turn I would have memories of Franklin and how he meant to screw me over. That’s not even counting memories of the bitch who invaded my home. I want you to know I’m not exactly happy about Miss A’s arrangement with her. On the other hand, I would’ve married the sonofabitch, if I hadn’t caught them together.”
“It was subterfuge, pure and simple, Di. Miss A has a flair for the dramatic. She promised it would work.”
