  • Christopher Keene

While studying for his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand native Christopher Keene took the school’s creative writing course in the hopes of someday seeing his own books on the shelves of his favorite bookstores. He is now the published author of The Dream State Saga, as well as his epic fantasy War of Kings and Monsters and the Super Dungeon novelization The Midnight Queen and the sequel trilogy His Majesty’s Paladins. • Christy McKee

I never set out to be a romance author. My goal was always TV news. During a break from college, I was fortunate to get an internship with Associated Press— a real prize for a broadcast major. A few months into the job, I made a catastrophic mistake, quoting a source incorrectly. I’d rewritten a few words to make the sentence flow better. Unfortunately, my "re-arranging" altered the source's meaning, and my boss was apoplectic.  The red-faced bureau chief fired me on the spot, muttering under his breath, I should try my hand at fiction.

After working in TV news—getting up at 4 am really sucked—advertising, producing telecourses for a southern university, and a stint in healthcare, I was still searching for “the best” job, for me. After nearly two decades, the words of my former AP bureau chief still echoed. Fiction. Maybe it was time. Our children were grown. My husband offered to take on nightly dinners and our two Labs, Lambeau and Gracie, were ecstatic to have a stay-at-home mom. I was on my way! Where to?

Well…growing up near a lakeside resort town—spending a lot of time at my dad’s marina—I was inspired to create cozy, friendly Haley, Vermont. Most of my main characters are thirty-somethings. They’ve faced failed relationships, weathered job changes, and are looking for love—whether they will own up to it or not. Most of them are searching for second chances and it’s up to me to give them one.

Hot, humorous, and happily ever after.

  • Ciara Gold

Ciara describes herself as a well-rounded Renaissance woman with more irons in the fire than a blacksmith. Blessed with an overactive imagination, she is constantly jotting down plot ideas for future stories. At present, she has four fulltime jobs; writer, teacher, layout artist for a local magazine, and housewife. Busy is her middle name. When she’s not working, she’s enjoying time with her wonderful family. Married to the love her life, she and her husband hope to spend retirement days on the coast somewhere. Together, they have a son, a daughter, a dog and a cat.

  • Cid K. Fleming

Cid K. Fleming grew up in the suburbs of Boston, but recently traded sidewalks for trails when she and her husband moved to rural northern New England. It was the beauty of the lakes and mountains surrounding her home that inspired the setting for this novel. A former teacher and human service administrator, she started writing years ago as a way to infuse more creativity into her life. When she’s not writing, she volunteers at her local library, sinks her hands into bread dough, and enjoys outdoor activities with family and friends. In addition to writing romance novels, she writes for children and is a technical writer.

  • Cindy Kehagiaras

I am a storyteller first and foremost. My writing journey began a little over a year ago after my 50th birthday and the lock-down provided me the opportunity to get my stories down. Some stories have been haunting my dreams for over forty years. But when the characters began shouting at me at all hours of the day and night I had to write them down, never having written before.

Some romance stories some women’s lit stories, always steamy and full of colorful characters, most set in the 1990s with pop culture and music references.

Two debut stories coming soon made me realize that writing has been my destiny all along.

A proud native Californian, I live in Hermosa Beach, CA, a tiny beach town in South Los Angeles County with my husband of sixteen years, two beautiful kids, and two spunky-rescue kitties.

  • Craig Hastings

Born and raised in Muncie, IN, Craig is as typical middle-America as they come. His 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, followed by another 15 as a DoD contractor, allowed him to live in several places in the States and overseas. After over 20 years in Germany and the UK, Craig hates moving; he and his wife settled in Oklahoma City with their 3 miniature Dachshunds. The pups allow Craig and his wife to reside with them. He continues working for a major computer company under contract with a leading airline manufacturer, which keeps him busy during the weekdays. Leaving his evenings and weekends for writing and maintaining their 5 acres. Oh, and his primary job of taking care of the pups.

  • D.L. Croisette

D.L. Croisette is a storyteller. The characters in her head demanded their tales to be told. Not one to back down from a challenge, she now spins them into romantic adventures full of drama, emotions, and courageous characters who rediscover their strengths. Collector of international friends, avid traveler, and always up for a new experience, she snaps photos to remember each escapade and peppers the best into her stories. She’s probably at an outdoor café right now, dreaming up a bold new heroine to stir up trouble. (Fun!)

  • D.M. Barr

To the average observer, I am a wife, mother, competitive trivia player, and a rescuer of senior shelter dogs. A select few, like you Dear Reader, know me as an author of sex, suspense, and satire. I am the president of the Hudson Valley Romance Writers, a board member of New York’s Sisters in Crime chapter, and a member of ITW and MWA. In my free time, I teach writing as one of the Damsels of Distress, and interview other authors at www.author-groupie.com.

QOSC, a Rom Com, is a genre departure for me, but during COVID-19, I decided that it was more important to make people laugh than to unnerve them with a psychological thriller. Still, true to my genre-hopping nature, readers will find some suspenseful elements scattered about, as well as my usual punny sense of humor.

As in all of my novels, this book pulls from my life story, specifically my high school years volunteering at Glengariff Nursing Home, and later, at Meals on Wheels. Please drop me a note at authordmbarr@gmail.com and let me know how you liked it. Better yet, please leave a review on Amazon, Goodreads, wherever you share your literary critique. Thank you!
